🐣→💡→🚀 About Me

I have diverse skills and experience in product marketing and data science. You might be wondering how I've been able to pursue these fields - here's my story.

2014 to 2016: Early steps as an Engineer

While doing a master's in geotechnical engineering I began my career as a Geotechnical Engineer - Data & Analytics, focusing on spatial data analysis and numerical methods.

2016 to 2021: A soft pivot Marketing Analytics and earning an MBA

In 2016, I became interested in data-driven performance marketing and started practicing digital marketing and marketing analytics. To deepen my understanding of business administration, I pursued an MBA in 2018. I worked with tech enterprises like Huawei Technologies and high-growth Canadian startups like Railz AI. I successfully managed a marketing budget of over $2M, increased its return on investment by 36%, and contributed $8.25M in annual recurring revenue. As a data-driven marketer, I implemented strategies and tactics to interact with users, evaluated their behavior and conversion rates, and monitored retention for a user base of over 1 million annually active individuals.

2021 to 2023: Why I pursued a Master's degree in Data Science

Right in the middle of the pandemic, I learned about a new data science career trend where I could play a bridge role between business and data science stakeholders (like AI/ML product management roles). I lacked the back-end data science experience that would allow me to excel. Therefore, I decided to enroll in the highly competitive and prestigious data science program at the University of British Columbia.

2023 to who knows: Bridging the gap between business stakeholders and data science teams

Throughout the past 8 years of heavily focusing on data applications in civil engineering, telecom, internet services, and fintech, I found myself yearning for the competitive sink-or-swim environment that the business world and data-related problems provide. With a solid background in both business and data science, I am now seeking opportunities to use my skills and knowledge to drive growth as a data science leader, skilled in turning business challenges into data science solutions.

🚴🏻‍♂️ Hobbies

One of the main reasons that Vancouver is such a great place to live for me is because it provides easy and quick access to multiple ski resorts and a wide variety of biking trails. The stunning natural beauty of British Columbia is a constant source of inspiration for me, and I love to share my adventures on Travel Beautiful Columbia.

I own a Giant Escape 2 bike, which I ride frequently, from Stanley Park in Downtown Vancouver to Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver. If you're interested, you can check out my rides on my Strava profile.

Summer 2022, Sunshine Coast, BC. I biked 300 KM in 3 days.
